300 EMPLEADOS DE EL MUNICIPIO DE MAYAGUEZ SIN EMPLEO

PARA EL 28 DE FEBRERO DE 2008, 300 EMPLEADOS TRANSITORIOS DE EL MUNICIPIO DE MAYAGUEZ SE QUEDARAN SIN EMPLEO DEBIDO A QUE LA LEJISLATURA MUNICIPAL NO APROBO EL PRESUPUESTO PARA TALES EMPLEADOS SEGUN ALEGA EL ALCALDE. POR OTRA PARTE LA LEGISLATURA INDICA QUE NO APROBARON EL PRESUPUESTO YA QUE HAY EMPLEADOS QUE LLEVAN EL PLAZA TRANSITORIA POR MAS DE 10 ANOS Y QUE EL ALCALDE NO QUIERE DAR PERMANECIAS, HAY MUCHAS PLAZAS CONGELADAS. EL ANO PASADO SE SUBCONTRATO UNA COMPANIA PRIVANA PARA HACER UN ESTUDIO SOBRE REECLASIFICACON DE PUESTOS, LA COMPANIA ENTREGO LAS RECOMENDACIONES A MEDIADO DE ANO PERO AUN NO SE LLEVAN A CABO. EL PUEBLO SE QUEDARA SIN EL SERVICIO DE MANEJO DE EMERGENCIAS, BOMBEROS Y EMERGENCIAS MEDICAS MUNICIPALES YA QUE LA MAYORIA DE SUS EMPLEADOS SON TRANSITORIOS. A PRINCIPIO DE MES GASTARON MILES DE DOLARES EN FIESTAS PATRONALES Y TODAS LAS SEMANAS HAY UNA FIESTA DIFERENTE EN LA CIUDAD PERO NO HAY PRESUPUESTO PARA LOS EMPLEADOS DE EL MUNICIPIO EN ESPECIAL PARA LOS DEPARTAMENTOS DE EMERGENCIAS QUE TANTA FALTA HACEN PARA EL BIENESTAR DE EL PUEBLO. CON LA SALUD NO SE JUEGA. HAY UN CONFLICTO DE POLITICA ATRAS DE TODO ESTO. PIENSEN ALA HORA DE VOTAR PARA LAS PROXIMAS ELECCIONES… LOS EMPLEADOS SON PADRES DE FAMILIA Y SON SERVIDORES PUBLICOS QUE DIA A DIA DEJAN SU FAMILIAS ATRAS PARA ARIESGAR LA VIDA TRATANDO DE SALVAR Y ALLUDAR A OTRAS, PERO ESO EL MUNICIPIO NO LO AGRADECE, A EL CONTRARIO SOLO LOS DESPIDEN AVISANDOLES CON SOLO 2 SEMANAS DE ANTICIPACION. PORFAVOR VAMOS A PONERNOS LOS PANTALONES EN NUESTRO LUGAR Y VAMOS A BREGAR POR EL BIENESTAR DE EL PUEBLO.

Noticia recibida desde Mayagüez; espero que sigan alzando su voz de protesta, no callen sus problemas pues solo hablando el mundo sabrá lo que pasa en nuestro país. Y que no se les olvide esto a la hora de votar porque esa es nuestra unica arma para defendernos de politícos sin escrupulos.

Todo lo que dice el companero en esta informacion es correcta pero hay un par de cosas que quisiera anadir. Este gobierno de Mayaguez es el clasico gobierno de las tres B (baile, botella y baraja). Para lo unico que aparece dinero es para decoraciones costosas, fiestas, festivales, musica, comida, baile y de las necesidades basicas del pueblo que? Siendo que estos mas de 300 empleados somos en su mayoria padres de familia que necesitan este ingreso para sostener a sus familias, causa indignacion ver como ocurre dia a dia este despilfarro innecesario de dinero para cosas sin importancia. Lo mas triste es que el municipio cuenta con el dinero para mantenernos empleados por lo que resta de ano economico, pero los asambleistas no quieren aprobar la liberacion de estos fondos, dis que para presionar al alcalde para que nos haga permanentes. Esto es mentira y claramente se ve y existen las pruebas suficientes para demostrar que esto es una guerra politica en la que solo nos perjudicamos los que menos culpa tenemos y los que hacemos el trabajo para que ellos se lleven los honores. El alcalde por su parte dice estar de manos atadas y esto es otra mentira pues esta es la oportunidad que estaba esperando para poder salir de unos cuantos empleados y poder seguir adelante con el mencionado Plan de Clasificacion que lleva mas de 10 anos posponiendo su implementacion costandole al pueblo millones de dolares en multas y costos de asesorias profesionales y legales. A los Asambleistas les digo que dejen de seguir mintiendole al pueblo y a los empleados pues si su preocupacion por los empleados que llevamos mas de 10 anos trabajando para este gobierno fuera genuina, en vez de oponerse a la asignacion de fondos EXISTENTES nos podrian bien ayudar en el proceso legal para reclamar la creacion de nuestras plazas a las cuales tenemos derecho segun la ley que fuera creada y enmendada en el 2004 por el gobierno de la ex gobernadora Sila M. Calderon, precisamente para evitar el abuso que se tiene contra los empleados transitorios de las diferentes agencias de gobierno. A los empleados que se han visto afectados por esta intransigencia de los asambleistas y el alcalde les digo y le exhorto a que levanten la voz de protesta y luchen por lo que nos corresponde. No tengan miedo a las amenazas que hace el alcalde y si hay que levantar un Pleito de Clase y DEMANDAR no se sientan intimidados y apoyemonos unos a otros pensando primero en el bienestar de nuestros hijos y sabiendo que lo que estamos solicitando nos pertenece por DERECHO y no podemos permitir que unos INCOMPETENTES nos lo arrebaten. ADELANTE!

A la verdad llevo tantos anos dandole mi voto aquien hoy en dia le solicite ayuda y lo unico que han hecho por mi es enviarme a ayuda al cuidadano y alli te envian a busca ayudas a otras identidades sin fines de lugro.
Soy una madre que siempre a apagado contribucciones y 100pre he mantenido a mi familia pero en el 2006 sufri un accidente en mi trabajo el cual no he podido superrar, recientemente me someti a una cirujia muy peligrosa espinal lumbar y de la cual no me aseguran recuperacion completa y mi municipio no ha podido ayudarme. Con los costos tan altos de la comida, gasolina, rentas y demas, no puedo garantisar el hogar seguro para mis hijos apenas con la ayuda economica del fondo, puedo satifacer algunas necesidades. los cupones solo me dan para parte de una compra mensual. la luz y el agua apenas los puedo pagar. Senor Alcalde donde esta usted cuando uno quiere verlo?, para ver como me pueden ayudar y porque dependo de otras entidades/, donde esta la economia del municipio/? si todo es para los juegos 2010 y las fietas como espera usted que la gente lo siga apoyando.

Dear Sir/Mamm: Im here visiting (with my lovely wife, Giselle) your beautiful island for the second time…the first time was in the year 2001…..the same year I meet my wife. This was in a place called “The Mayaguez Mall”….in front of Sears…..Well Ive been having this discussion with my wife…..She says we meet in front of Sears at 7:45AM…..and that Sears had not opened yet….Well I dont agree….I was wondering I you could help us with this little problem…..Now remember like I said we Meet in front of Sears in the year 2001…..My question is……At what time did the Mayaguez Mall open ( in the year 2001) it doors?……At what time did the stores open ( in the year 2001) their doors?….And, at what time did the Mayaguez Mall close ( in the year 2001) its doors? Please help us solve this discussion. I am extremely appreciative and grateful for your time and assistance. Sincerely,Felix.
P.S….With all due respect…and I do mean with respect…well because the political situation you all live here on this lovely island is not an easy on…..question: Do you all have a problem with any, or some, or all
the politicians in Puerto Rico? If the answer is YES…well then I from the bottom of my heart suggest…you all organize yourselves and IMPEACH ONE OF THIS ANIMALS…qand watch the rest of them fall in line …..ship uip or ship out….remember Nixon…it doesnt take something that big. All you need are a lot of signatures.

Hello Felix,

This is a very interesting story and I hope you find your answer.

The Mayagüez Mall back in 2001 opened at 9:00am (Daily) and closed at 7:00pm (Monday thru Thursday), 9:00pm (Friday and Saturday), Sunday 5:00pm.

About the politicians I think they are all in survival mode. With this been said, All the politicians are the same once they get the power they also get a price tag if you know what I mean.

In order to fix our situation we need to flip this whole island up side down. But we are doing our part by using our freedom of speech to say what we really think. Its just part of the process!!!
